Herpes is a viral disease, caused by herpes simpler virus (HSV) and it is also known as Cold sores.
The symptoms are superficial clean vesicles (blisters) with red base,
usually on lips or face.
The cold sores are usually break open, leak a clean fluid, then crust and disappear within days.
Method of spread
It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluids.
Direct contact with secretions from throat and mouth of infected person.
(The period between the initial infection and the appearance of symptoms)
It usually takes 2-12 days from date of contact.
(The time during which an infectious agent may be transferred directly or indirectly)
Usually up to 7 weeks after onset.
Avoid coming in contact with secretion or infections material.
What to do
For severe cases, contact to your doctor.
Avoid contact with children with eczema or burns and the immune compromised.
