It is a viral disease and caused by influenza virus.
Usually fever, headache, muscular aches and pains, exhaustion, running nose occurs.
Sometimes vomiting, diarrhoea may also be occurs.
It is more common in children.
Methods of spread
It is spread by sneezing and coughing, particularly in crowded area.
It also spread by direct contact with secretions of nose and throat.

Usually it takes 1-3 days from date of contact.
(The time during which an infectious agent may be transferred directly or indirectly)
Usually 3-5 days in adults, up to 7 days for young children.
Avoid crowed areas.
Carefully dispose tissues.

Proper hand wash and cover mouth and nose when sneezing.
