R.S.V. is a viral disease and being caused by respiratory syncytial virus, infects the lungs.
Generally the symptoms are:
Method of spreads
Spreads direct contact with infected respiratory secretions.
Also spread through food and water contaminated with feces.
(the period between the initial infection and the appearance of symptoms) Usually takes 1-10 days from date of contact.
(the time during which an infectious agent may be transferred directly or indirectly)
Just prior to and until the end of the active disease.
What to do
Control fever with acetaminophen, as doctor recommends.
Also consider taking antibiotics if there is bacterial complication such as bacterial pneumonia
Take plenty of fluids.
Control and Prevention
Frequently hand washing.
Avoid your child to contact with people who have fever or cold.
Promote good hygiene.
