Stomach infection - Salmonellosis
Salmonellosis is a type of poisoning caused by the salmonella enterica bacterium. It is more common in summer than in the winter.
Include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting.
Method of spread
a) Spread by eating contaminated food, under cooked food.
b) May also spread by pet like turtles, chicks ,ducklings or fecal oral transmissions.
c) A frequent cause is a food handler who does not wash their hands after using the bathroom.

6-72 hours from date of contact.

Throughout the course of infection.
What to do
a) Control fever.
b) Takes lots of fluids.
c) Consult with physician.
Control & prevention
a) Proper food handling and storage can help to reduce the risk.
b) Educate food handlers.
c) Thoroughly cook all food from animal sources.
d) Refrigerate prepared foods.
